The Straits Times[1] recently featured one of the cases handled by our Partner, Chia Shengyou, Edwin. The case concerns a commercial property held by the late father and his only son, the surviving joint tenant (“the Defendant“), in joint tenancy. Our clients, the Plaintiffs (whom are siblings of the Defendant), were successful in obtaining a declaration that the property was held on resulting trust by the Defendant on their behalf. The decision was upheld on appeal.
The matter was also previously reported by Today, Channel News Asia, and Lianhe Zaobao.
