GET TO KNOW HAZEL
Hazel is a Partner in our Corporate Advisory Practice Group. She holds dual bar admissions as a Barrister-at-Law in England and Wales and an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. Her main areas of practice include M&A, joint ventures, private equity and corporate advisory.
Hazel has over 12 years of corporate and commercial experience, having advised various clients ranging from start-ups to listed companies, as well as government agencies. She was previously lead in-house counsel for the Brunei Ministry of Defence on international public procurements before moving into private practice in Singapore. She is originally from Brunei and is bilingual in English and Malay.
Hazel has been consistently recognised as a “Notable Practitioner in Corporate and M&A” by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) 1000 since 2019 and was named as one of “Singapore’s 21 most influential lawyers aged 40 and under in 2020” by the Singapore Business Review. She regularly contributes to publications, having recently authored “Annotated Laws of Singapore: Supply of Goods Act” published by LexisNexis in 2021. She also created “CNPLaw Business Guide Series”, a collection of legal guides curated for businesses, and was listed on “e27 Women Voices” as a notable thought leader and one of the best women contributors on e27 in 2022.
Hazel is a former military scholar, being a pioneer recipient of the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Scholarship. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Durham University and a Master of Laws (Distinction) from BPP Law School in London.
