Michelle advises corporations, whether private or listed, on various matters including the setting up of operations in Singapore (such as incorporation of companies, registration of branches or representative offices), compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, licensing requirements, corporate documentation advice and review, investments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and initial public offerings.
She also advises companies listed on the Singapore Exchange (“SGX”) on post listing issues and transactions including compliance with the SGX Listing Manual, fund raising, bond issues, acquisitions and disposals, interested party transactions, corporate transactions requiring shareholders’ approval and corporate governance issues.
When it comes to employment law, she is experienced in providing advice on the management of employment relationships (including reviewing employment contracts and employee handbooks for compliance with Singapore laws and advising on corporate restructuring and termination issues), both from the employer’s perspective and the employee’s perspective. Working as a corporate and employment lawyer allows her to understand businesses from both commercial and human perspectives, facilitating the achievement of practical commercial solutions for our clients that suit their respective needs.
In addition to all aspects of employment law, she also advises on immigration issues, including applications for work passes and related passes, Singapore permanent residence and Singapore citizenship.
