Headed by a partner with a significant experience in maritime law, CNP is fully equipped to provide clients with practical, pragmatic advice relating to maritime, shipping and shipping-related matters with particular experience of bareboat, time and voyage charters, contracts of affreightment and slot charters, dry bulk and containerised cargoes.

Our shipping practice group has advised on the drafting and review of bills of lading, charterparties, way bills, consignment and booking notes and electronic bills of lading. On the contentious side, it has handled cargo disputes demanding a high order of both technical and legal expertise.

Much of maritime work we have undertaken, requires urgent advice with significant financial implications. Due to their operational nature, many issues can be compromised and never come to court or arbitration hearings. Our lawyers rely on pragmatic and commercial experience to amicably resolve the dispute with advantage to clients.

However, when disputes are fought out to judgment or award, our experience and expertise set us apart.

When advise on the drafting of charter party terms, our expertise in contentious matters gives us an invaluable perspective, anticipating and foreseeing issues that might arise and taking steps to avoid them.

We endeavor to find the quickest, most cost-effective solution to a problem to keep our clients' businesses moving and their relationships intact.
