CNP says "Sawatdee" to 2010
8 - 10 January 2010 - 35 partners, associates and staff members of Colin Ng & Partners LLP (CNP) hied off to Bangkok for the firm's annual retreat (Mission 2010), with a three-fold objective: Knowing each other, Planning & Strategising, and Implementing the plans.
Apart from presentations and discussions on business strategy and planning, the participants learned about recognizing different personality types and initiatives the firm is taking in the areas of document and knowledge management and corporate social responsibility. These are especially important as the firm plans to add more lawyers from the current base of approximately 60 fee-earners in 2010.
Mission 2010 also included team-building activities where teams constructed origami elephants at an altitude of 35,000 feet, and raced around Bangkok in CNP's version of "The Amazing Race." The team of CNP Partners Colin Ng and Quek Li Fei, even managed to put in a step (or, more accurately, over a thousand!!) for the environment, opting to take an hour-long walk from Siam Square to Lumpini Park instead of taking a motorised ride in a cab or a "Tuktuk."
"Mission 2010 was in many ways an open and level dialogue among all who attended. I've always believed that inspiration is the best way to motivate, and I think we came back all recharged and with a mission to accomplish," said CNP Partner Allan Tan, who has been appointed Mission Leader for Mission 2011.
